At Milton Keynes Veterinary Group we have a large number of veterinary surgeons who often discuss complex cases behind the scenes. This has the advantage of being able to collate a number of opinions from veterinary surgeons with a wide range of experience.
We are happy for you to request a second opinion for your pet.
If you are registered with us, we would generally recommend that you ask to see a different veterinary surgeon within our practice who will have access to all of your records. It may also be worth discussing referral to a Specialist referral centre if you are particularly worried.
We are happy to give second opinions on animals owned by non-clients. We will contact your own veterinary surgeon to obtain a history before your appointment. You will remain a client of your own practice and we will let them know our opinion on the case.
A second opinion does NOT mean that you are changing practices.
All owners of pets are able to change veterinary practices if they wish. We recommend that you do not regularly change from one practice to another as this can make it difficult to provide the best care for your pets.
