Summer Dangers – Flystrike in rabbitsDon’t forget to check your rabbits bottoms at least twice daily and make sure their housing areas are cleaned regularly, particularly during the very hot weather! During these warmer months, it is really important to protect our bunnies against Flystrike. Flystrike is a condition where flies lay eggs on rabbits and these hatch out into maggots. It can be fatal but it is preventable.
We recommend using an insecticide spray like F10. Our great tutorial by one our lovely nurses, Tabitha, shows you how to do this. Please note that F10 is toxic to cats so do not apply to cats or where there is interaction between cats and bunnies‼️
