Vickie Boswell
Vickie Roberts RVN DipAVN – Practice Manager
Vickie joined the practice in April 2013 as the Head Nurse having gained many years nursing experience in busy small animal practices. She achieved the Advanced Diploma in Advanced Surgical Nursing in 2007. In May 2013, she took on additional responsibilities and became the Practice Manager. She has 5 dogs and enjoys competing in agility, with her highlight being qualifying for a final at Crufts in 2013.

Penny Kendall
Penny Kendall – Group Administrator
Penny started working at Walnut Tree following graduating from Lincoln University with a degree in Animal Management and Welfare in 2008, and moved to the Willen surgery in November that year. At home, she has two moggy cats, Arnie and Womble, who she adopted from the RSPCA. This year, Penny and her partner have been renovating a 1973 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme ready for entry level drag racing next season, and, as an avid photographer, she has been on hand to help with putting everything back exactly where it came from!

Jess McCarthy
Jess McCarthy RVN – Head Receptionist
Jess qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 2008, and joined the practice in October 2012. She has taken on the role of join Head Reception in May 2019. Jess helps to run our Pet Blood Bank sessions, recruiting donors and supporting them and their owners during sessions at our Stoke Road surgery. She also helps run Puppy Parties from our Willen surgery on a Wednesday evening, and keeps her nursing skills up to date looking after our laboratory at Walnut Tree on Fridays. She enjoys long dog walks with her Dobermann, Westwood.

Hannah Jefferies
Hannah Jefferies – Head Receptionist
Hannah has rejoined the practice after an eight year break, during which she had two daughters Sydney and Olivia. She had a cheeky kitty called CJ, a corn snake called Biscuit and a leopard gecko called Spotty. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and escaping for the odd weekend to let her inner geek come out for sci-fi conventions.

Laura Austin
Laura Austin RVN Cert VN ECC – Head Nurse 
Laura started her nursing career in 2008 at a local Veterinary Clinic and qualified in 2010. She then joined Milton Keynes Veterinary Group in June 2012. She has 3 cats called Taz, Rococo and Roger. All 3 are rescue cats! Her family also has 2 German Shepherd dogs, Storm and Hugo. The cats particularly enjoy going for a walk with the dogs in the morning. In her free time she enjoys running, reading and going on hot holidays!

Jayne Buckley
Jayne Buckley – Accountant
Jayne has become a permanent part of our team from January 2019 and thoroughly enjoys the accounting world of equations and transactions. When not bean-counting, she loves exploring archaeological sites and archive libraries (secret Star Trek and Downton Abbey fan).
